Kat Sharp, Illustrator (She/Her)

Kat Sharp is from Richmond Virginia and holds a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University. After moving to New York City, she developed a career creating scenery for theatre, opera and film. Her work often took her outside NYC to such places as the Santa Fe Opera, Hawaii Opera Theater, and a film set in Vienna, Austria. Turning to teaching, she served as head scenic artist for Yale Repertory Theatre and lead instructor for Cobalt Studios. Currently, she focuses on illustration, especially of the natural world, from her home in Tidewater Virginia. Her work blurs the boundaries between cultural narrative and nature journaling. An avid citizen scientist and Master Naturalist, she enjoys kayaking, birding, and oyster gardening on the Chesapeake Bay.
