Bronwyn Hughes
Originally from Washington, DC, Bronwyn Hughes has lived in Tidewater Virginia with her illustrator-spouse, Kat Sharp, for over twenty years. Leaving a foreign service career with the US Agency for International Development, Bronwyn moved from Senegal to Mathews County with Kat to raise their adopted baby from China. Upon arrival, she plunged into her new community, retooling as a small-town CPA, founding the Mathews Film Society, and spearheading the mosaic mural project on Main Street. During the pandemic, she earned an MFA in creative writing from Randolph College. The stories in this collection first appeared in Atherton Review, Clackamas Literary Review, Evening Street Review, Hawaii Pacific Review, Sinister Wisdom, and Isele Magazine, Sortes Magazine, The Quiet Reader and Faultline Journal of Arts & Letters. In her free time, Bronwyn enjoys boating on the many creeks and rivers feeding the Chesapeake Bay.
